KA Fitness & Therapy is a mobile massage treatment service which helps individuals dealing with general aches and pains and any current or previous injuries with care, we also provide recovery massage for pre and post event therapy.

Treatments begin with a full consultation, yes it may take some time but it is important to me as the therapist to gain a basic understanding of who I treat. A Consultation consists of collecting personal details which are kept private and followed by finding out what is causing issues for your wellbeing. What, how, where and why it happened are the questions I use. Furthermore pain scales are used to find out the threshold I would have to work with. I then begin palpating (using sense of touch) the specified area to tell me different things, such the skin temperature, tightness & tenderness.I will then finish up the consultation by using a chosen range of movement tests to find out if clients have any restrictions in flexibility, as well as any pain in certain movements and how strong or weak they may be too.

The appropriate massage treatment will then be applied to the client with the information gathered from the consultation. I use a variety of treatment techniques depending on the client's needs, such as using more of a sports massage approach for individuals who require a more forceful treatment by using a combination of deeper and more intense massage strokes, friction, kneading & trigger point techniques. I may include soft tissue therapy techniques for other clientele who require less massage techniques being used and more soft tissue techniques such as muscle energy techniques (MET), soft tissue release (STR) and soft tissue mobilization.

I provide aftercare advice, and I implement corrective exercises after every treatment whether it be 2/3 exercises, as I believe individuals should learn and understand exercises which can then help them within their day-to-day lifestyle. Whether this boosts clients' daily activities or if they are competitors within their chosen sport, I find that introducing the basic exercises to the body helps individuals realise that it just isn't always about lifting and it is inadequate to be lazy and not do any exercise what so ever. It is also crucial that clients rehabilitate in the correct way, especially if a client has a current or previous injury that wants to be treated. The body demands us to use efficient corrective exercises or stretches to help support individuals because that is what the human body is made for.

The end goal is for KA Fitness & Therapy to treat any individuals who need assistance regardless of what it may be for and managing clients in a professional manner. I aim to build rapport with client's as I find interactions with them is a key factor when building a client base and to make each client want to request my services again and again. I love to see progression being made from client’s and I enjoy being a part of the reason they feel better and can do a lot more within the lifestyle.
